What this is
Records scatter. A photograph ends up in somebody's box, a name gets remembered wrong, and a farm nobody wrote down stops being anywhere at all. This site is where the Amoth, Holloway, Kjemhus and McGregor material lives, so finding it never depends on knowing who to ask.
It is an archive first. It is also a research resource, and the place the stories get told—homesteaders on the North Dakota plains, farmers in Mississippi, and a line traced sixteen generations up a Norwegian valley on the strength of the bygdebøker. Some of the people who will read it are in Norway and Sweden. Some we have never met.
It is built to outlast the software it runs on. Plain pages, open formats, sources on every claim.

Every assertion carries its source. Where the records fall silent, that silence is marked rather than filled—uncertain links are flagged unverified or speculative, and they stay flagged. Reconstructed illustrations, scenes we have no photograph of, are labelled wherever they appear and are never mixed in with the evidence.
Living people are listed by name only. Birth dates for the living are not published here.
